I enjoy the diversity food can give. Comfort, sustenance and escape to heights unknown. It provides a venue for people to gather and participate. Sunday, August 16, 2015. Free standing cone fireplaces were first introduced in the 1950s. There were three companies that manufactured them, Malm, Preway and Majestic. Malm is the only one still in business. I love to include these fireplaces in my paintings of mid century interiors, usually with a pet curled up nearby. Here is my most recent effort.
