Walnut cream sponge with maple syrup, not too sweet, not too filling and just the thing after a big day. I like a good balance of cream to cake. This is a single layer split in half. The cream is whipped, no sugar and a splash of vanilla. The cream has chopped walnuts mixed through it and is then used as a filling and topping for the sponge, more chopped walnuts sprinkled on top. Pour the maple syrup over each wedge as it was served. Thursday, 13 August 2015.
Onze reis voerde ons nu naar het Ulster American Folk Park in de buurt van Omagh. Het is een openluchtmuseum waarin. Het leven van de Ierse bevolking in vroegere tijden getoond wordt. In het museum werd deze eenvoudige quilt uit de 19e eeuw getoond. Dit schilderij verbeeldt de wanhoop van de stervende Ierse bevolking. In dit soort huisjes werd zeer eenvoudig geleefd.
