Antique Recreation

Friday, May 8, 2015. Two Little Pieces of JOY! Ive really been on the down low so far this year. My last post was on January 1st! I love these two pieces! Two completely different styles, but they both appeal to me. A cute little mid-century side table, painted in ASCP Graphite. And this next one is an unusual diminutive dresser. With a curved front, and original wooden castor wheels. It would make an incredible bed side dresser or side table. Grey washed with a natural wood top. Links to this post.

rusticurban

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Thursday, March 27, 2014. I purchased this buffet from a Bed and Breakfast in Camden, ME. It was advertised in a local virtual garage sale. The finish was in great disrepair. And I am not always a fan of many wood grains, patterns and colors. Though I totally appreciate the craftsmanship. I was going to paint it white, but after painting my Moroccan Red dresser, I just needed to try out another color.

The Far Fifty

This little guy followed me home from the thrift store a long time ago. I finally got around to painting it and good news. I had a quart of Benjamin Moore, Montpelier still on my shelf that I used on this dresser. This is the Ben line of paint by Benjamin Moore. I love using this paint, it goes on great and leaves a smooth finish. This chap got a British makeover since my husband. Well then, cheerio! .

the junk in our trunks

Friday, September 5, 2014. I found this great little solid wood dresser, and knew it needed a little makeover. Before, pictured way better than it looked in person. I decided to go with a red shell and a walnut drawer front, with a french graphic from the The Graphics Fairy. And a walnut antiquing over the entire piece. I kept the original hardware, it went so nice with the wood tones. The junk in our trunks. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. The junk in our trunks. Monday, July 28, 2014.

Posted on October 25, 2013. Solid wood, just a little banged up and in need of some loving. I sanded it, cleaned it, vacuumed it, cursed at the dust, primed it, sanded it again, tack cloth-ed it, and then cursed at the dust again.
