A year in the life of. Thursday, 6 September 2012. Re establishing the orchard. The Orchard, really in name only rather than content has for many years been the home to a pair of geese and the occasional grazing ewe and her lambs. For the past couple of years these too have departed, and the land has lain fallow, an old Bramley and a couple of diseased Dittisham plum trees being the only sign of times past. Day 1 The first of many to come! Photos 1 Looking down the orchard to the house. Annie my .

Simon Michelles Garden

Monday, 31 May 2010. This is a raised corner bed that I have got my eye on for growing some butternut squash and pumpkins but it was a bit overgrown with ivy. It took some clearing - some of the roots were a good inch thick and needed sawing. We covered the roots in cardboard. Then S topped it with our first batch of homemade compost.
