Katakolon is a really serene seaside Greek village with a population of about 600 people, situated in western Ilia, in the Pyrgos. It is located on the Ionian Sea, around the Peloponnese peninsula. Katakolon became a port in 1857 but these days the port is principally used by cruise passengers to disembark and explore.
