A great day out birding started at Sandy Smith with the Great Grey Shrike, then a nip up to Rutland Water for the Red-necked Grebe, We then went round to the Lapwing hide to find the Smew amongst a large quantity of Goldeneye, Tuftys, Pochard, Wigeon and Mallard. Saturday, 14 July 2012.

Thursday, January 31, 2013. These following people and places are at the core of why I return to Nepal every chance I get. These are the two women who OWN the Tibetan. There really are no words for how deeply I admire and love them. They returned from their long trip to India just in time to have dinner with me! I sure wish I had some of that food right now! Mother so she is very excited.

Keeping track of our waterbirds through marking and monitoring. Monday, 10 August 2015. Returning Waders Add a Splash of Colour to Dublin Bay. After the summer lull, waders are now flocking back to our shores. We are in the early phase of autumn migration and many species can still be seen in their charismatic breeding plumage.

A good week for boobies- although only observed in low numbers, this juvenile red footed booby. Makes it three species in 5 days. I have also had a brief visit from a bottlenose dolphin.
