Misery, Elation, and Science-Based Medicine. Friday, March 9, 2012 A room with a view. Apparently scar tissue is not an unusual side effect of abdominal surgery. Ugh! Talk about putting a cramp in my side. I spent four days with the lovely RNs and PCTs of Virginia Mason. They provided wonderful nurturing care. And i was very fortunate to have my favorite friends and loved one visit me. It has been two years since.

Thursday, September 16, 2010. tastic! Had the surgery on March 11, and the take-down surgery 6 weeks later on April 22. It was absolutely miserable, and I wish it on no-one. I never want to do it again.

Following a comment I had on my last post about having the coil I decided to speak to the Pharmacist about pain relief.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010. In July 2007, a couple of months after my first major flare-up and hospitalisation. If I had anything as grand as a founding principle it was to try to be as honest as possible. But recently I became curious about how the doctors have charted my illness, so I asked for a copy of my medical records. Finally, my medical records are a hef.

This is how the UC used to make me feel. Search, Search, Survive. I am 37 and a teacher. I am a happily married man with 2 boys aged 13 and 10, and we live by the sea. I have had UC since about the age of 30. These are the ramblings of man trying to come to terms and deal with a chronic disease whilst maintaining some sort of normality.

Look Dave, I can see youre really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over. And every day from now on for the next year. And I would most definitely regret not having children. Right? April 6, 2009. Anyways, said young man and I.
