Sunday, January 25, 2015. It used to be, that I did not fully appreciate winter. I would dread the coming cold months that brought snow, sleet, and dirty slush. Wintertime is actually a beautiful time of year. The sun seems a little more brilliant and sparkly. Spying animal tracks in fresh-fallen snow seems exciting.

March 21, 2015. Since the kids were still sleeping, we decided to head all the way up to Grand Marais. After visiting several shops and buying a few souvenirs, we drove up to our favorite view of the town at Pincushion overlook see above. I love this picture, although I wish hubby was in it. Of what? August 20, 2009. Peter, you will be missed. There is something about driving that gives your ownership of a place. Getting lost, getting un. Lost and the sudden realization that you know your way around what was once a giant puzzle of unknown streets and neighborhoods makes you feel at home. Or is it the act of driving that is home to me? Either way, I am feeling at home in this crazy city.
