Last week the local montessori school had a science fair. I went with two friends who taught there this semester. All the kids had posters up explaining their science experiments. They also all gave me hugs goodbye, and some of those were quite touching. It was very hard to leave.
On my last day, I presented my poster board that I created for the celery experiment. I then went outside with three students to help a student complete their science fair project. It was a great last day. This week I taught three of my lessons. It was very exciting! One group decided that they wanted to get an up close view of their celery.
I recently finished my last week of feild. It was sad to say goodbye, but it was nice to see that the children would miss me. I am going to miss going to feild every day, but I think that I got alot out of my experience there.
Getting Involved with the Community. As a teacher, it is very important to know the community in which your students live. This way, you have a much better understanding of where they come from, as well as the culture that surrounds them. It is also great when a teacher can become actively involved with the community in which they teach. It seems so strange that field is over-it feels like it just started! My cooperating teacher was usuall.
