Sunday, June 28, 2009. هي رابع أكبر مدن ا لمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية. من حيث عدد السكان يبلغ عدد سكانها قرابة 500 الف نسمة عام 2008. تبعد عن العاصمة عمان مسافة 30 كم. وهي عاصمة البلقاء. تتميز المدينة بطبيعتها الجبلية وأحيائها الشعبية. وما بين العراقة والحداثة تعتبر مدينة السلط من اجمل المدن الاردنية. تحتضن مدينة السلط اول مدرسة ثانوية في الاردن وفيها ايضا اقدم متحف في الاردن.
