Saturday, June 26, 2010. I have officially survived two weeks as a DeBakey intern at Texas Childrens Hospital. Several people have asked what Ive been up to, but HIPAA prevents me from sharing any details about patients, etc. So instead, I thought I would share a few of the things Ive learned so far. 1 Residents swear like sailors. 2 Surgeons do, too. 3 Eight am lecture does not constitute an early morning. 4 Night showers are bearable if it means sleeping in until 415. 7 Mosquitoes have a purpose.CONTENT

Needless to say, I have neglected to update our blog. I do have photos to upload of recent events, but for now, an update via my phone will have to do. In the past week I have hauled an old piano into our tiny apartment, acquired a rather large bar bell and stack of weights that accompany it, and an even larger stack of text and notebooks. Eventually, I hope to sand and paint it an exciting color.
