The Chicks During the Second Week. Posted by augamm in Chicks. During the second week is when the feather development really began. Wing feathers appeared on most of the chicks and tail feathers began to appear on some. The chicks were also growing in size. Once the feathers start developing, they grow very fast. One of our Easter Eggers, Henrietta is 7 days old in the first picture and 10 days old in the second picture.
