Let me tell you my story of how a short term mission trip at MPPC affected me so deeply that I left my life in California to work in missions in Africa. God turned my life upside down, shook it out, and put it back together in a way that I neve.

June 2012 Team Trip. Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Our team of 11 left SFO on June 13 and after our 2-day safari in the Masai Mara, spent a full 5 days at the Achungo Childrens Centre thats how we spell it in ex-British colonies! What was most remarkable on this trip for me was that every single teacher from our 2 preschool classes through Kindergarten up to 6th grade were simply superlative. I just wish Id had them as teachers! We now have a total state-of-the-art, fully recycling latrine! Home Page for .CONTENT

Friday, July 5, 2013. Thursday, July 4, 2013. Our team for the June 2013 trip to Achungo rather evolved over time. On Monday, June 24, Sarah Ackerley joined the team, having been in Kenya for 3 months already.
Wednesday, July 2, 2014. How do you delay a flight 12 hours? Were they still trying to buy the plane? We despaired of ever making Nairobi the next evening and what would that mean for the trip schedule? For poor Joey and Annemarie? IF we could make all the connections! I was amazed in Nairobi wh.
Monday, June 8, 2015. We are less than 10 days away from our departure for Kenya for this June trip.
About the October 2011 Team Trip. Sunday, February 5, 2012. The children of Achungo thirst for the love and care of a parent as well as an education. Achungo gives these children both of these things and it is thainks to Michael and the amazing teachers at this school. One student stuck out to me the most and her name is Yvone. Sunday, November 6, 2011.
Saturday, December 22, 2012. The Day of the Tree. It looked like a total loss! Then each child had his hand painted green and they pressed their hands onto different parts of the tree on the wall to create leaves of their hand prints. We even brought in the preschoolers and all of the teachers. The tree filled out with the green prints of the hands of all of Achungo school and is now a permanent part of the school library. And there were many types of trees left for all to enjoy.
